I think most people just imply it with regards to guys who beat the little woman to keep her in line or show her who is boss. I mean there is a line that can be crossed and having had to pick up a few guys in the past who got the crap beat out of them by a wife or gf, some would be smart to pick it up quicker. I dont think it should be a quick fix and probably should be quicker to slug it out with a guy but if a woman beats the crap out of a guy or something, eventually there is a right to defend yourself, be it woman, man or alien bloodsucker

I don't exactly condone anyone being hit - regardless of gender. But your case seems different from the standard 'wife-beater' or similar labels.
You were being fought by someone who had the intent to provoke & injure you.

The fact that you're remorseful that it happened, even though you didn't instigate it, says a lot about you.

It's unfortunate that it happened at all really, but in this case the woman is not blameless.

Well I am not going to judge you one way or the other but if you could have left without violence that would have been the better path to take. I am not saying that you were totaly in the wrong but looking back on the incodent could you have pushed past her or found another way out?

I have two Daughters and mabye that make me look at this situation a little different but I think we all could do a better job of working things out without beating eachother to a pulp
